The RIMS Canada Council shall consist of duly elected representatives from each Canadian chapter who are deputy members of RIMS who shall represent their respective chapter and shall act as liaison between the chapter and the Council. The Council shall establish an executive structure and from its own members elect an Executive presently consisting of: Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. The Executive shall be responsible for the assignment of portfolios of responsibility to each member, including but not limited to: Business; Industry Liaison, Conference, Education, Environment, Executive Referral, Health; Safety, Legislation; Government Affairs, Membership; Chapter Services, Public Affairs, Publicity, Employee Benefits and Research. The Council shall address the national Canadian activities and strategic initiatives of RIMS and risk management in Canada by promoting, coordinating and supporting activities of RIMS, the RCC, the chapters and of individual members.
The Council shall liaise with the Executive Council, RIMS Committees and staff to further enhance the activities of RIMS and risk management. The Council shall function as a Committee in a manner prescribed by the bylaws of RIMS. This includes the maximization of Canadian risk managers on RIMS committees as well as the maximization of the use of RIMS structure in addressing Canadian, risk management and RIMS issues. |
