RIMS Canada Council Ten Year Vision

Highlights of Objectives
(excerpted from the RCC Strategic Plan)


 

1.  RISK MANAGEMENT AS A PROFESSION


Risk Management is a recognized profession and RIMS is the premier association for the profession. 

2.  RIMS AS THE PRE-EMINENT RISK MANAGEMENT ORGANIZATION IN CANADA


RIMS, through RCC and the Canadian RIMS Chapters, is recognized as the pre-eminent risk management organization in Canada by its membership, its chapters, the media and government policy-makers.  RCC continues to advance Canadian risk management policy issues.

3.  STRONG AND BROAD MEMBERSHIP BASE


Our impressive membership base spans a broad spectrum of risk management professionals, with many holding increasingly senior roles within their organizations, e.g. Chief Risk Officers.  Allied professionals will be interested in our programs and tools.  We will be attracting students and young professionals as members.  

4.  “THE” RISK MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE IN CANADA


Our annual Conference serves to attract new members, provide high quality, leading-edge and relevant education to our existing members and increase the profile of RCC as the leading risk management professional organization in Canada. 

5.  PROGRAMS AND SERVICES TO MEMBERS

Our members have access to regular, practical and high quality educational offerings and risk management tools.  RCC helps to identify the continuing education needs of Canadian members, encourages RIMS to produce and tailor services for Canadian members, participates in RIMS’ development of new programs and provides some financial support to Chapters for the delivery of Chapter-based educational offerings. 

6.  ENABLING TECHNOLOGY


Technology enables the RCC and Canadian RIMS Chapters to offer a range of learning and meeting formats to the Canadian RIMS membership.   RCC and the Canadian RIMS Chapters foster effective two-way communications with the membership, between Chapters and between the RCC and the Chapters.  Members are making use of the technology that is available to them through RIMS.

7.  HUMAN RESOURCES


The efforts of our tremendous volunteers are effectively supported by professionals.  Good succession planning systems enable us to maintain a continuity of high quality leadership for the RCC and its subcommittees.

8.  SOLID FINANCIAL POSITION


The RCC is on very solid financial footing based on adequate reserves and increasingly diversified revenue streams.

9.  RCC IS A GREEN ORGANIZATION

The RCC has evaluated and initiated sustainability programs wherever possible.
